Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of Winona Ryder named her for the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz is her father, while Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder is Jewish. Ryder believes that her father came from a Jewish background. The actress is the younger sister of Uria, and has half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder was born in the United States and moved with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. There they didn't have electricity. Ryder was a voracious reader and spent her time reading books because she had no television. Ryder began taking acting classes at the age of Ryder was twelve years old, in the American Conservatory Theatre. In 1986 she landed her first major-screen appearance in the film Lucas at just fifteen years old. Ryder faced bullying during her time in high school. Ryder believed that if she became an actor her behaviour could be reduced. Sadly that didn't happen. It didn't stop her from pursuing dreams. Her biggest break occurred in the year 1988, when Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued to play successful roles in various films. In 1993, Ryder was nominated two times for the Academy Awards.
